A member of the Wik & Kugu Nations of Western Cape York Peninsula, she lives in Pormpuraaw with her partner Danial Bracegirdle and is co-owner of Wik Media Enterprises. Her traditional affiliation is with the Kugu Uwanh and Wik Mungkan which she speaks.

Sharon has also worked in resource management and has completed her certificate two in Land and Sea Management.
